Recognition of Liberty Day Dinner and Liberty Award Ceremony was conducted by Association for Liberal Thinking on May 14th at SürmeliHotel in Istanbul.

Students in place who contended in the Essay Contest of 2011 with the topic of “How Could the Principle of Rule of Law be Improved in Turkey?” took their awards in the dinner in which academicians, journalists, lawyers, civil society volunteers, entrepreneurs and students from all the country joined as well.  Program started with the opening speech of Chairman of Executive Board of Association for Liberal Thinking,  Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bican Şahin and continued with presentation about activities of Association for Liberal Thinking of 2010 and 2011 by  General Coordinator, Özlem Çağlar Yılmaz.

This year, Executive Board decided to give 2011 Liberty Award to Taraf Daily and after the award speech of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bekir Berat Özipek, editorial coordinators of Taraf Daily took the award from Prof. Dr. Atilla Yayla
